Dr. Say Bory Calls on Intellectuals to Study PM’s Ideology

PHNOM PENH: Prominent Cambodian lawyer Dr. Say Bory said that Prime Minister Hun Sen is a Cambodian scholar who excels in philosophy and public administration; that Cambodian intellectuals should study his ideology.

Dr. Say Bory wrote on his personal Facebook page on May 31 that in all of Cambodian history, only Prime Minister Hun Sen has been able to withstand hostile enemies who, despite their efforts, cannot bring him down. He noted that the PM is a symbol of Khmer pride and an important figure in national unification.

"Khmer intellectuals should study his political ideology and learn from it as well," he wrote. “We tend to study only foreign scholars, not recognizing that we have our own scholars here. Cambodia is very fortunate to have a scholar in the role of Prime Minister."

Born in 1940, Dr. Say Bory is one of the most renowned lawyers in Cambodia, respected by local and foreign intellectuals alike. He graduated with a doctorate in law in Paris in 1974 and went on to become the founding president of the Bar Association of Cambodia in 1995.
